Etsy Stores; should your business be there?

On the Insiders business owners and professionals discuss everything, literally!

If it’s important to you then it’s a valid subject to discuss. Most of the time we talk about business, personal development, learning new skills and trends. Sometimes an issue comes up for a business owner and that’s when we can come together with our Founder @Mandie Holgate’s facilitation and coaching, we are able to work out the best course of action.

Here Nottinghamshire based business woman Naomi Jane Johnson a digital designer with a plethora of done for you services to help your small business standout shares some advice on Etsy.

“There’s been a lot of bad publicity around Etsy recently. Although I’ve had my own Etsy store for several years, I’ve never been fond of the platform and of course sellers have no control over their stores, nor (obviously) over Etsy’s policies.

We’re repeatedly told that we shouldn’t rely on social media for marketing because it’s “rented land” – which is why it’s essential to have our own website and email database, both of which are under our control.

My feeling is that the same applies to online marketplaces such as Etsy. It’s far better to have a selling platform that we own and control, and for the last year or so I’ve been pondering whether to take the plunge. I’ve created multiple digital and print-on-demand products and intend to continue doing so,  therefore having a dedicated space to sell them made complete sense.

I’ve recently launched an online shop to sell my varied range of products. These include printables, phone wallpapers, digital and printed journals and planners, custom designed merchandise such as t-shirts, hoodies, bags, mugs, wall art and more – with the range to be expanded over the coming months. I’m happy to discuss commissions for specific products.

To celebrate the launch, throughout August I’m offering Insiders a 20% discount on all digital products.  Contact me to get the discount code at checkout.

If you have no budget for a website then it’s often the only option to rely on the rented land as Naomi mentions. We can help you build a high quality brand, style of communication, range of products and services so that no matter what industry and profession you are in, you will be remembered and making profits for your business. That’s our job, to help you no matter what size budget you have. And when (not if, when!) you make enough to get a website and your own land to promote your business, we know some amazing website builders including our affiliate Emedia. Listed here with all the other amazing affiliates that Insiders get discounts and exclusive offers with.
